Kevin Started Gundel Transport Services in 1987. In March 1988 they bought their first Bedford tractor unit for general haulage as well as agricultural haulage work.

In 1989 came 8 wheel crane lorry for brick and block work, we then saw the need for a rear mounted crane to offer a more flexible service, we were one of the first independent haulers’ to introduce a drawbar vehicle to the building industry. We continue to offer crane hire, part load and full load services.

We introduced lorry-mounted forklifts for even more flexibility to help with even tighter access points.

In 2000, we obtained new premises to take on increasing storage work to satisfy our customer’s needs. We also purchased bigger cranes for bigger jobs increasing the size of our fleet, along with specialised lifting equipment, tailor made for our customer’s individual needs. We also recently introduced a winch to the fleet.

By 2007 due to expansion, the need for even larger premises was realized, we purchased land and built our own premises specific to our needs, with larger storage facilities, workshops and offices.

Gundel Transport Services look forward to 2017, when we celebrate 30 years of continuous, uninterrupted service as a family run haulage business in Nottingham to customers who range from small family run businesses, to large blue chip plc companies.
